Meet Our Heads of House

At Bloxwich Academy we are committed to ensuring that pupils are safe, happy and healthy to support them achieving their potential and making the best progress they can in their learning. We feel that everything is grounded upon trust to produce an environment whereby pupils are well known, are valued and respected. We are a ‘telling school’ which means that any pupil must tell their Head of House or a member of staff if they have been mistreated by another pupil or group of pupils. At the primary site pupils are encouraged to speak to their class teacher or learning support assistant attached to their class. We are committed to tackling bullying and strive to create a supportive and positive environment for all pupils.

We have high expectations of behaviour, attendance and punctuality and we aim to support pupils by working with individuals, parents and outside agencies. The pastoral team have positive and professional relationships with pupils and work to improve all pupil outcomes by responding to their individual needs

We regularly analyse, discuss and target pupil progress to maximise academic achievement but also provide a number of ways of developing pupils’ social and leadership skills through PSHE (personal, social and health education) lessons, extra-curricular clubs, House competitions, committees (such as School council and Anti-bullying committee) and opportunities like our prefect system. At the primary, all pupils have the opportunity to make positive choices, with ‘Bloxwich Brilliant’ being our aim. In year 6, pupils can be elected to the junior leadership team. They are ambassadors to the school and support with the younger children.
